On Sunday, Real Madrid will play Barcelona in the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga. Los Blancos are now in first place, 15 points ahead of their fierce rivals, who have played one game fewer.

Meanwhile, the Merengues have been requested to pay €60 million to sign a Bayern Munich player. A boost has come to the Spanish giants in their pursuit of Erling Haaland.

On that note, below are the most important Real Madrid transfer stories as of March 16, 2022:

Lucas Hernandez has been valued at €60 million by Real Madrid.

According to The Hard Tackle through Defensa Central, Real Madrid has been requested to pay €60 million to acquire the services of Lucas Hernandez. With his performances for Bayern Munich, the Frenchman has received high praise. As a result, La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid want to sign him this summer.

After playing a major role in France's 2018 FIFA World Cup victory, Hernandez became a household name. In 2019, the 26-year-old moved from Atletico Madrid to Bayern Munich. So far, his relocation to the Allianz Arena has had mixed effects. Initially, the Frenchman battled to maintain his place in the first team. Hernandez, on the other hand, has seen consistent playing time under Julian Nagelsmann this season. Despite his recent luck, the Frenchman is looking for a new challenge this summer. Los Blancos is one of the clubs keeping an eye on him.

The La Liga giants are looking to bolster their backline, and the 26-year-flexibility old's has piqued their interest. Hernandez can play both center-back and left-back.

Eder Militao and David Alaba seek additional protection from Real Madrid. They're also looking for a successor for Ferland Mendy, who has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. As a result, bringing Hernandez in would help with both positions. The deal, though, may leave a hole in the coffers of the Spanish giants. Hernandez's current deal has two years left on it, and the Bavarians aren't about to let their prized asset go for peanuts.

It's unclear whether the Blancos will pay top dollar for Hernandez or opt for a free agent like Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger.
